CATCH Controller Awarded Fellows Scholarship
CATCH, Inc. congratulates John Mastrobuoni on receiving the Capella University Fellows Program Scholarship. Mr. Mastrobuoni is the fifth CATCH employee to receive this Scholarship. Previous recipients have included Case Managers, a Program Coordinator, and an Associate Director.
As a component of Minnesota-based Capella University, the Capella University Fellows Program provides community leaders with the tools to recognize and reduce socio-economic disparities in the places where they work and live. The program dates back to 2018, with 70 total Fellows as of 2022. The 2023 cohort boasts an impressive 50 Fellows.
Consideration for the scholarship requires applicants to submit a letter describing how they intend to use the funds to better themselves and their communities. Mr. Mastrobuoni’s letter is shaped by his tenure at CATCH. As Transportation Manager, he observed that community inequalities need to be addressed to better assist Philadelphia’s underserved population. Mr. Mastrobuoni also noted his involvement in the agency’s Community Engagement Committee which encourages staff to be vested in their community.
Mr. Mastrobuoni began his CATCH career in December 2017, holding various positions within the agency. He now serves as the Controller, a title he has held since July 2022. Mr. Mastrobuoni aspires to become the Chief Financial Officer of CATCH, Inc., and is mentored by the current CFO, Jonathan Solomons.
Mr. Mastrobuoni begins classes on October 9th. He is enrolled in a two-year MBA program with a focus on Health Management. There will be a virtual Award Ceremony on October 14th to honor Mr. Mastrobuoni and the other Fellow Scholarship recipients.
